2021 Magnetic Easel Calendar

Happy New Year! I wish for much happiness and good health for everyone in 2021. Let’s make this year a better one than 2020.

I’m probably late to the game with this post, but I still wanted to share the calendars I created for a few gifts this year. I was overwhelmed with the response to them – they were a big hit!

I started out wanting to create a calendar for 2021 that would include four seasonal backgrounds but quickly realized that the images I chose were far too flowery for the men out there. So, instead of seasonal, I chose four somewhat neutral images and created four useable backgrounds with positive statements on each that can be interchanged at any time. Genius? Maybe not, but I’ll let you be the judge of that. I put a piece of magnet sheet on each of the backgrounds as well as on the back of the calendar itself, which makes it easy to switch between the backgrounds. The magnet sheets are self adhesive, so all you have to do is peel and stick.

Most of the products I used are from the the Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog with a few exceptions. I used chipboard from various packaging (mostly paper packs) to back each background to make them sturdy. At the bottom of this post, I have included links to other items used to make this project (easels, magnetic sheets, and calendars).

Here are the measurements (all in inches):

Other

  • Magnet sheets – 2 x 2 3/4 (need 5: one for each background and one for the back of the calendar)
  • Chipboard – 6 x 4 (need four of these)

How to make the project:

  1. Cut cardstock, designer series paper (DSP), magnetic sheets, and chipboard to sizes as indicated.
  2. Attach 4 x 6 inch piece of cardstock for each background to a chipboard piece.
  3. Stamp images and color as desired if necessary. Punch and die cut images.
  4. Adhere smaller top piece of white cardstock or DSP to colored cardstock mat, then adhere to top of calendar base, keeping about the same amount of base cardstock showing on left, right, and top of base.
  5. Adhere calendar mat to its designated background.
  6. Peel off adhesive backing from magnet piece and attach one to back of calendar and one each to the calendar mat on each calendar background.

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed this project. I gave one easel, one tear off calendar, and the four backgrounds to each person. I had fun making this project and after all, isn’t fun what this is all about?  Yes!

I’ve listed the supplies below by background and then the general supplies for all backgrounds.

Thanks for visiting!
