August seems to bring about a busy birthday time. Here is a card a made for a birthday or two.
- Cut card base out of Pear Pizzazz cardstock at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.

Run a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock a little larger than 4 7/8 in x 3 5/8 in through your die cutting machine in the Subtles embossing folder, then trim to 4 7/8 x 3 5/8. Cutting the cardstock to size after embossing it ensures that it is exactly the size you need.

Cut a piece of Merry Merlot cardstock to 4 5/8 x 3 3/8. Using a rubber embossing pad, use the long, skinny decorative die to emboss one of the long edges.

Die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock (4 3/4 x 3 1/4) out of the rectangle die from the Nature’s Thoughts dies.

Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4 x 5 1/4 for the inside of the card; set aside.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the butterfly in Melon Mambo, two sets of leaves in Pear Pizzazz, and two of flowers in Daffodil Delight. When stamping the flowers, after inking the stamps in Daffodil Delight, use a sponge dauber to ink Melon Mambo directly on the stamp into the middle of the flowers, then stamp onto paper. Die cut all of these out with the Nature’s Thoughts dies.

Die cut three of the large sprigs out of Merry Merlot cardstock, then die cut the small butterfly out of Daffodil Delight cardstock.

Adhere Daffodil Delight layer to the card base, then adhere the Merry Merlot layer on top of that, making sure to put the embossed edge toward the bottom of the card.

Stick die cut green leaves to the die cut white layer.

Wrap linen thread several times around Whisper White rectangle die cut and adhere to back of cardstock.

Adhere the stamped butterfly and flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then layer sprigs and small butterfly where desired.

Use a double strand of linen thread and tie a knot around the linen thread wrapped around the white cardstock. Tie a bow with the thread.

Stamp the Happy Birthday greeting from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set in Merry Merlot on a 1/2 in strip of Whisper White cardstock; use the Lovely Label Pick a Punch to cut it down to size then adhere to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use the Dark Daffodil Delight and Dark Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends to add color to Rhinestone Basic Jewels and adhere to card front.

Stamp inside layer as desired and adhere to inside of card.
